Free Fitness Week January 3-8

After indulging in all the goodies during the holiday season, come join us for Free Fitness Week today, Tuesday, January 3 through Sunday, January 8! This is your opportunity to find the fitness class that's right for you without any obligation. All classes start their new session the following week, so you’ll be able to register for that great new class you just discovered. Click the link below for a class schedule.

Master Your iPhone January 13-27

This hands-on class provides a complete overview of the iPhone, then covers the use of the iPhone making and receiving phone calls, use of voice mail, use of email, the Internet and other basic features. The class takes place on Fridays, January 13-27, from 10 a.m. to noon. The fee is $65 for Levy members and $80 for nonmembers. Class # 544126.

Levy Center Closed for Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday

The Levy Center will be closed for the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday on Monday, January 16. The Center will reopen on Tuesday, January 17 at 7 a.m.

Celebrate National Popcorn Day January 19!

Join us on Thursday, January 19 at 1 p.m. as we celebrate National Popcorn Day. If you’d like to join us for popcorn, please sign up at the Levy Center front desk or call 847-448-8250.

Fran Randall Memorial Concert January 20

Enjoy beautiful music at the Levy Center on Friday, January 20 at 1:30 p.m. The Fran Randall Memorial Concert Series spotlights music students from local colleges, universities and high schools. All concerts include the Levy Center’s refurbished Steinway grand piano. 

Pianist Allison Wang is a winner of The Jerome and Elaine Nerenberg Foundation Scholarship given by the Musician Club of Women. Flutist Jilene VanOpdorp is a second year graduate student at Northwestern University in the studio of John Thorne. Also an avid piccolo player, she was a winner of the National Flute Association’s Piccolo Masterclass Competition in 2011. 

The concert series is underwritten by the Levy Senior Center Foundation. Refreshments are provided by Symphony of Evanston. There is no charge for this program.

Craft Quickies Class Begins January 25

Join us for a new 8-week craft class on Wednesdays, January 25 through March 15, from 10 a.m. to noon. Some of the projects that we’ll be doing include tile painting, bottle melting, papermaking, decorative wire bugs and shaving cream paintings, to name a few. There will also be teacher’s choice and student’s choice projects. The class fee is $48 for Levy members and $63 for nonmembers. All supplies are included. Class # 544601.

Senior Citizen Property Tax Exemption Renewel Applications to Be Mailed in Early January

The Cook County Assessor’s Office will mail 2016 Senior Exemption renewal applications in early January. Blank 2016 exemption applications will be available in early January, as well. All seniors must apply to renew, or to initially receive, their senior exemptions. Please call the City's Property Tax Assessment Review Office at 847-448-8168 with any questions about the exemption application process.
