Winter Parking Regulations Are Back

Snow Parking

With the snow emergency declaration earlier this week, I want to remind you of snow parking restrictions and encourage you to sign up for convenient email and text alerts at cityofevanston.org/snow.

These are the basic rules we ask you to follow:

  • Don't park on the Snow Routes at night.
  • During a snow emergency, park on the proper side of residential streets between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. according to the posted parking signage.
  • Clear your sidewalks of snow and ice.
  • Clear parking lots for which you are responsible, without pushing snow into adjacent streets, alleys or sidewalks.

In addition to the many courtesy notifications offered by the City, residents can now text SNOW to 847-448-4311, and will receive an automatic reply letting them know if there is a Snow Route Parking Ban and/or a Snow Emergency. This automated service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping Evanston streets safe!
