The Big Draw Evanston Continues with More Great Events this Weekend!

Evanston's month-long arts festival continues this weekend with fun for all ages! Free events include "Spoken Words / Drawn Responses" for teens at the Gibbs-Morrison Cultural Center, drawing with loose parts at Wheel & Sprocket, "Meditative Mark-Making" at The Collage Cafe, and more.

"It's the Great Pumpkin Compost" November 5

This fall, rescue your Halloween pumpkins and jack-o’-lanterns from withering on the front porch or ending up in the trash by participating in the City's inaugural “It's the Great Pumpkin Compost” collection event. The free event will take place on Sat., Nov. 5, 9 a.m. to noon, in the parking lots of the Levy Center and Morton Civic Center. Share photos of your jack-o’-lanterns using #EvPumpkin.

Enjoy "Coffee with a Firefighter" this Friday!

This Fri., Oct. 21, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., the Evanston Fire Department will host "Coffee with a Firefighter" at Berry Pike Cafe. Chat with firefighters while enjoying your morning cup of coffee.

Fall Festival at the Downtown Evanston Farmers' Market October 29

Fall Fest

Come in costume and celebrate the fall bounty at the Downtown Evanston Farmers' Market Fall Festival on Sat., Oct. 29, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The first 100 children under 12 years old will get a free small pumpkin to decorate and take home. The Market will be held as usual from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A special Evanston City Council meeting will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sat., Oct. 29 in the James C. Lytle Council Chambers of the Morton Civic Center. The meeting will include a Truth in Taxation Public Hearing, a Public Hearing on the FY 2017 Proposed Budget, and a Preliminary Tax Levy Estimate.
