Dear Friends,

As you will surely have noticed, work has begun on the reconstruction of the Ryan Field West Parking Lot.  The project includes creation of additional parking spaces at the north end of the lot, new parking lot lighting, improved stormwater management, landscaping around the perimeter, a 6' high ornamental fence along the alley adjacent to the parking lot, and additional sidewalks.

The work will be done in two phases:
      Phase 1 (south half of the lot) — June 20 - July 29, 2016
      Phase 2 (north half of the lot) — July 30 - September 1, 2016

Construction work hours are:
      Monday-Friday  —  7am to 7pm
      Saturday             —  8am to 5pm

All contractor parking will be within the construction area.

Persons holding City of Evanston permits for Parking Lot 64 (the Ryan Field lot) may park at the meters along Poplar Street at no extra cost, subject to availability.  They may also park in Residential Permit Parking Districts 6 and 7.

Coming Soon: The Isabella Street Bridge Project

Inspection of the bridge in 2014 showed that the bridge deck has deteriorated due to inadequate concrete cover.  The deck surface is to be "rehabilitated."   This will require that the bridge be closed -- to cars, bikes, and pedestrians -- for six weeks.  Work is scheduled to start on July 11 and be completed by August 19.

Isabella Street will be closed to through-traffic between Ashland and Ridge. "ROAD CLOSED: LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY" signs will be posted at Isabella and Ashland and at Isabella and Ridge.  "Local traffic only" signs will be added to side streets where necessary to discourage vehicles that try to by-pass the official detour signs.

Movie Night at Ryan Field

Now for some good news!  Movie Night at Ryan Field presents "The Good Dinosaur."  Bring the whole family to Ryan Field on Thursday, July 21.  Gates open at 6:15pm, and the movie begins at 7:00pm.  Free!  (Rain location: Welsh-Ryan arena.)

Pace and CTA Conducting North Shore Survey to Improve Service

Pace, in partnership with the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), has initiated the North Shore Coordination Plan. This study will include a review of existing Pace and CTA routes in the North Shore area, including portions of the City of Evanston, Village of Skokie, Village of Wilmette, Village of Lincolnwood, and City of Chicago. As part of the study, Pace and CTA are conducting a general public survey of residents, students, employees and visitors in the study area and we invite you to take our survey here (www.tinyurl.com/pacectanorth). Your input will help Pace/CTA improve service in the North Shore area. Survey deadline: July 1, 2016. For more information, please visit our project website.
