EVANSTON POLICE MAKE ARREST IN COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
On Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at approximately 3:48 AM, Evanston police officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress at Cross-Rhodes restaurant in the 900 block of Chicago Avenue, where an offender had broken out the front window to the business. Upon arrival, officers observed a subject fleeing the location on foot. An officer was able to stop the subject, now identified as Parker Cavalier, in the 800 block of Hinman Avenue. Cavalier resisted the officers' attempt to take him into custody by twisting away from the grasp of the officer and also struck the officer several times with his elbow. After officers were able to take Cavalier into custody, proceeds from the restaurant were recovered from a bag that he was carrying. Parker was transported to the Evanston Police Department and charged with the below offenses.
The Evanston Police Department would like to acknowledge the initiative and keen observation skills of the original caller, who resides in the vicinity that called the police department to report the in-progress incident.
