"Five Elements" Opening Reception May 15

Moon Rise 1, Ted Glasoe

An opening artists' reception for "Five Elements," an exhibition exploring air, water, wood, metal and earth, will be held on the second floor of the Noyes Art Gallery this Sun., May 15, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free and light refreshments will be served.

Emerson/Ridge/Green Bay Improvement Project Begins Next Week

The City will begin Emerson/Ridge/Green Bay Corridor improvements Mon., May 16. The project includes roadway resurfacing and reconstruction; installation of new water main, storm sewer and drainage structures; replacement of curbs and gutters; traffic signal modernization; and new street/viaduct lighting, pavement markings and landscaping. The project is expected to be completed by early November 2016.

Free NU Youth Football Clinic this Saturday!

Northwestern Football invites youth in grades 8 and under to participate in a free skills clinic this Sat., May 14, at Ryan Field! Participants will have the opportunity to participate in basic drills and learn the fundamentals all while interacting with members of the Northwestern Football program. Doors open at 10 a.m. and the clinic begins at 11 a.m. Pre-registration is required.

29th Young Evanston Artists Festival May 21

YEA! (Young Evanston Artists) will host the 29th annual YEA! Day Festival at Raymond Park on Sat., May 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy delightful artwork and upbeat music and dance performances.

Support the Ecology Center at the Green Ball this Friday!

Party for the planet at the 5th annual Evanston Green Ball this Fri., May 13, 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., at the Levy Center! A special Eco Center Sitters service will be available for attending parents; pre-registration is required.

Evanston residents age 16 or older who are cardholders of the Evanston Public Library can "Borrow the Internet" and take it home (or elsewhere) through the Library's new Wi-Fi Hotspot pilot lending program.

North Shore Choral Society "Requiem for Peace" 5/14

North Downtown Planning Meeting 5/18

The City has begun a planning effort to establish a boundary for the north downtown area and to develop an appropriate scale of development framework for future projects. A community meeting will be held on Wed., May 18, 7 p.m., in the Parasol Room of the Morton Civic Center to gather community input.
