Please join me for our next 2nd Ward meeting on Thursday, May 12, 7 p.m., at the J.E.H. Education Center, 1500 McDaniel Ave. Ward meetings are your opportunity to share concerns and discuss issues that impact our ward and the greater community.
We have a lot going on in our 2nd Ward this month. Please share this information! My goal is to keep all neighbors in our ward informed about upcoming events and opportunities that they can benefit from. The City of Evanston has started
a planning effort to establish a boundary for the north downtown area and to
develop an appropriate scale of development framework for future projects in
this area. Staff will be facilitating two community meetings in the coming
months for this project. The first will be a general informational gathering
meeting and the second meeting will be a planning charrette, which will
incorporate additional data gathered by staff based on first meeting.

On Monday, June 13, the U.S. Pizza Team will be holding it’s Midwest Culinary and Acrobatic Trials at Panino’s Pizza, 1968 Dempster St. Events will include a culinary trial, Freestyle Acrobatics, Fastest Pie Maker and Largest Dough Stretch. Prizes will include trips to the World Pizza Championships for culinary, cash awards, medals and the bragging rights of being the Best in the Midwest for the other events. Evanston residents age 16 or older who are cardholders of the
Evanston Public Library can "Borrow the Internet" through a new Wi-Fi
Hotspot pilot lending program that begins May 1. Here’s how it works:
- Check
out a Wi-Fi Hotspot at the Main Library.
- You
must provide a valid photo ID: driver’s license, state ID or High School
ID.
- You
can place a Wi-Fi Hotspot on hold through the
EPL catalog.
- You
can borrow one device per library card.
- Keep
your Wi-Fi Hotspot for up to 2 weeks. It is non-renewable.
- Wi-Fi
Hotspots must be returned to the Main Library circulation desk only.
- $50
replacement fee for lost device. $5 a day late fee up to maximum of $20.
