EVANSTON POLICE WEEKEND INCIDENTS
There are two separate incidents that the Evanston Police Department would like to update the public on that occurred over the past weekend.
The first incident occurred on April 2, 2016 at approximately 11:20 PM, when a patrol officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a minor traffic violation at Greenbay Road and McCormick Boulevard. While the officer was speaking with the driver of the vehicle, the driver placed the vehicle into gear and attempted to flee, but the vehicle stalled. The driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot carrying a white object inside a plastic bag. As the subject ran across the bridge over the North Shore Channel on Greenbay Road, he threw the object into the channel. The subject was taken into custody and the object was recovered. The object contained approximately 293 grams of suspect cocaine. An additional 3.7 grams of suspect cocaine and over $6000.00 was recovered in the subjects possession. Anthony D. Henley, 44 years of age, from Zion, Illinois was charged with the below offenses. An arrestee photo of Henley is attached to this release for legitimate media publications.

2 traffic citations (Improper Lighting and Leaving Vehicle Unattended in the Roadway)
The second incident occurred on April 3, 2016 at approximately 3:35 PM, when officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Dodge Avenue in reference a subject who had been shot. Upon arrival, officers located a 20 year old Evanston resident who was shot in both his left and right thigh. The victim advised that two males in dark clothing shot him from the west alley. Officers recovered three 9mm shell casings from the alley. The victim was transported to Evanston Hospital for treatment of his non-life threatening injuries. Evanston detectives are conducting an investigation into the incident.
