More than 40 employers providing summer and year-round employment will be present at the Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program (MSYEP) Job Fair on Sat., March 12, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., at ETHS! Youth are highly encouraged to apply online to expedite their process at the Job Fair.

City Replacing Damaged and Older Model Sanitation Carts in Wednesday Pick-up Zone

The City is replacing damaged and older model yard waste and refuse carts as part of a free, one-time exchange program. The next phase of the project will include residents whose normal refuse pick-up day is Wednesday, and is expected to be completed from Thurs., March 3 to Fri., March 18.


Celebrate Drinking Water Week with Art, Photo Contests

The City is hosting a 3rd grade art contest and high school Instagram contest to celebrate National Drinking Water Week. Winners will receive four free beach tokens for the 2016 season! Submissions due by Mon., March 14.


Reminder: No Political Yard Signs on Public Property

Vote signs

Residents, candidates, campaign staff and volunteers are reminded that City ordinance prohibits the placement of political yard signs in right of ways and on public property, including street corners and the area between the sidewalk and the street.

The ticket office at the Davis Street Metra station is temporarily closed until further notice. Trains servicing the Davis Street Metra station will not be impacted during the ticket office’s closure.

"Reinventing Landscapes" Exhibit Debuts 3/6

Reinventing Landscapes exhibit art

An opening reception for "Reinventing Landscapes" will take place on Sun., March 6, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., in the 2nd floor gallery of the Noyes Cultural Arts Center. Admission is free; light refreshments will be served. Another exhibition, "Intimate Connections," is also hosting an opening reception at the same time in the Center's 1st floor gallery.
