Skate Outside at Arrington Lagoon, Baker Park!

Outdoor ice skating

Outdoor ice skating is now open at Arrington Lagoon and Baker Park! City crews are also working to prepare the rink at Bent Park, which has required repairs to its liner. As temperatures fluctuate, please check the City's website for updates on the status of the outdoor rinks.

Summer Fun: 2016 Camp Lottery Registration through January 25!

Registration for 2016 summer camps is underway! Lottery registration for Evanston residents (ZIP codes 60201 and 60202) takes place through Mon., Jan. 25, at 4 p.m. Open registration will begin on Mon., Feb. 15.

EEA Donates $43,000 for Ecology Center Classroom Extension

EEA Ecology Center Donation

At the January 11 City Council meeting, the Evanston Environmental Association (EEA) presented a check for $43,000 to the City to be used for the classroom extension project at the Evanston Ecology Center. The expanded classroom will provide additional space for programming, as well as more living space for the Center’s resident "critters."

Sheridan Road Water Main Project Underway

Over the next four months, the City will be contracting water main improvements on Sheridan Road, from Emerson to Lincoln Streets. Preliminary work began this week; full construction activities are scheduled to begin Mon., Jan. 25.

Revelle Announced as New 7th Ward Alderman

This week, Mayor Tisdahl thanked the many dedicated community members who offered to serve as 7th Ward Alderman, as well as residents who attended a recent ward meeting to discuss the position. The Mayor then announced Eleanor Revelle as the City's new 7th Ward Alderman. The City Council will consider Revelle for the position during its Mon., Jan. 25 meeting.
