 "The Nutcracker on Ice," Robert Crown Community Center's beloved winter ice show, will celebrate its 41st year entertaining families with four performances this holiday season, December 11-13!
There will be two matinees and two evening performances of the special holiday show, performed by Robert Crown Center ice skating school students and competitive figure skaters. Tickets are $9 for general seating and $10 for reserved seating.
 Help make the holiday season joyful for as many needy Evanston families as possible by donating to the annual Holiday Food & Toy Drive! You can donate online or bring new, unwrapped toys and/or non-perishable food items to the lobby of one of our convenient Evanston drop-off sites through Friday, December 11.
Volunteers are still needed for the Food & Toy Drive on Friday, December 18 from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. If you'd like to volunteer, please register at volunteerevanston.org.
Grab your ugliest holiday sweater and join us at the Levy Senior Center this Sunday, December 13, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.! Families will enjoy dancing to a DJ, games and prizes, cookie decorating, art activities, face painting, a balloon artist and a very special guest (psst, it’s Santa). Plus, use our special photo area to take a holiday photo of your family decked out in your lovely sweaters. Refreshments will be served. To register, please call 847-448-4311.  Winter may be coming, but you can still enjoy many of your favorite Farmers' Market goodies! The Indoor Winter Farmers' Market will be held on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Evanston Ecology Center. The Market will run through April 30, 2016. (Please note: The Market will not be held on December 26 or January 2.)
Shop for all of your favorite foods, including vegetables, fruit, meat, eggs, cheese, bread, jams and jellies, and so much more. Great news: There is a new and improved lot with free parking!
 The new Gibbs-Morrison Cultural Center opened this week on a limited schedule! The schedule for December 7-11 focuses on drop-in activities and sampler classes. There will be opportunities to create holiday cards and gifts, ornaments, twig gingerbread houses, and evergreen arrangements, as well as drop-in tile and glass painting classes. The operating hours and activity schedule for future weeks is being finalized.
 The Robert Crown Center will hold a special DJ night skating session on the main rink on Friday, December 18, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with A-Z Entertainment, Ltd. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for students with ID, and $3 for children 5 and under.

E-Team 2 have been invited by Northwestern University to play during halftime
of Northwestern University Women’s Basketball game as part of NU's 7th annual Autism Awareness game. Good luck to all the participants!
 Join your favorite Disney snowman, Olaf, at Oaken’s Trading Post for some family fun on Saturday, December 19! Children will create a special holiday gift for loved ones alongside Olaf’s helpers! Holiday snacks will be provided. Remember to bring your camera so the little ones can have their picture taken with Olaf. 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m. time slots are available. Come meet the characters of Frozen and try skating at the Robert Crown Center on Saturday, December 26, from 10 a.m. to noon! This free event is for children ages 4 to 9 years. Classes will be divided by age group. Please dress warmly and remember mittens. Skate rental will be available.
 Celebrate the first day of Kwanzaa at Fountain Square on Saturday, December 26 at 11 a.m. There will be music, songs, the traditional lighting of the Kinara, and recitation of principles.

 The Robert Crown Community Center will host a 3-on-3 hockey tournament under blacklights for Mite, Squirt and PeeWee
age groups on Saturday, January 2, from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Find two friends to join and let the games begin! Skate rental is available. For information about this event, please call 847-448-8258. This tournament is for ages 4 to 9 years.
Admission is $120 per team.
