Plenty of Halloween Fun in Evanston!

Fall Fest

From trick-or-treating, to ice skating in costume, to decorating pumpkins, to listening to spooky stories, there's plenty of Halloween fun to be had in Evanston! Visit the City's Halloween Festivities page for a listing of events, including the Evanston Animal Shelter's Trick or Treat Trot for Tails, a Halloween Skate Party at Robert Crown Center, Halloween Fest at the Farmers' Market, and much more! Official Evanston trick-or-treat hours are from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sat., Oct. 31.


Celebrate "Day of the Dead" this Sunday at the Levy Center

Academy of Mexican Dance & Music

Celebrate the “Day of the Dead” at the Levy Center this Sun., Nov. 1, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The free event will feature a concert performance from the Academy of Mexican Dance and Music. Other fun activities include interactive arts stations where families can create ofrendas, and a costume parade for all ages.


"A Bright Night for the Arts" Celebration Returns November 5

Bright Night for the Arts

Celebrate Evanston's vibrant arts community at "A Bright Night for the Arts" on Thurs., Nov. 5, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Rotary International. The event will include music, wine, tasty small bites from Eurest, and great networking opportunities. Tickets are now available for purchase.

Reminder: Daylight Saving Time Ends 11/1

Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. on Sun., Nov. 1. The Evanston Fire Department reminds you to not only change the clocks in your home before you go to bed on Saturday night (set them back one hour), but to also change the batteries in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors.


"Birds in Jeopardy" Debuts at Noyes Cultural Arts Center 11/1

An opening reception for "Birds in Jeopardy," a new art exhibition showcasing work about endangered and extinct birds, will take place at the Noyes Cultural Arts Center on Sun., Nov. 1, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Food and beverages will be provided.

Evanston Medical Cannabis Dispensary Community Meeting 11/4

2nd Ward Ald. Peter Braithwaite will host PharmaCannis at a community meeting on Wed., Nov. 4, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Hilton Garden Inn, located at 1818 Maple Ave., in Evanston. Representatives of PharmaCannis will answer questions about medical cannabis and present their plans for the medical cannabis dispensary currently under construction in the retail space at 1804 Maple Ave. Refreshments will be provided.

Studio Spaces Available at Noyes Cultural Arts Center

Noyes Cultural Arts Center

Lease applications from individual professional artists and professional performing and visual arts organizations are being accepted for five studio spaces in the Noyes Cultural Arts Center. The application deadline is Fri., Nov. 6.


Northshore Concert Band Begins 60th Season 11/1

Community Initiative Network will host the first Neighborhood Education Workshop (NEW) on Sat., Nov. 7, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at Family Focus. NEW showcases the skills and talents of our neighbors as they offer knowledge and expertise through community workshops.
