Evanston’s ’Kits, ’Cats and Kids Block Party will turn Sherman Avenue into a great place for the whole family to play! The block party will be held on Thursday, September 24 from 5:00 pm to 7:15 pm in Downtown Evanston. Sherman Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Church and Davis Streets to allow children, students of all ages, and adults to participate in games, activities and crafts, while listening to live music on stage.
The Northwestern University and Evanston Township High School marching bands will perform, and special guests will fire up the crowd in anticipation of the NU Wildcat and ETHS Wildkit football games to be played that weekend.
Discounted football tickets will be sold at the block party to help fill Ryan Field with a sea of purple at 7:00 pm on Saturday, September 26, when the Wildcats will play Ball State. Discounted tickets also may be purchased at NUSPORTS.COM with the code PURPLE through Friday, September 25.
The ETHS football game that weekend will be a home game against New Trier High School on Lazier Field at Memorial Stadium. Kickoff for the varsity game is 7:30 pm on Friday, September 25.
