Starlight Movie at Dawes Park this Saturday!

Bring your friends, family and your blanket to Dawes Park this Sat., Aug. 15 for a free starlight showing of The Great Debaters! Evanston's Starlight Movies in the Park series continues on Tues., Aug. 18 with Into the Woods at Harbert Park. All movies begin at dusk. 

Evanston CommUNITY Picnic August 23

On Sun., Aug. 23, noon to 4 p.m., celebrate Evanston, diversity and going back to school at the Evanston CommUNITY Picnic! The free event will take place at Ingraham Park, located just west of the Morton Civic Center. Enjoy free food, games, giveaways and entertainment.

Tickets are still available for Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre's (FJT) final play of its Summertime Season, "Maya's Last Poem." Performances take place Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. through August 23. FJT recently received several Black Theater Alliance award nominations for its play, "Why Not Me? A Sammy Davis Jr. Story."

Watch Big Hero 6 on the video board at Ryan Field tonight, Thurs., Aug. 13, as part of Northwestern Athletics' Movie Night! Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and the movie begins at 7 p.m. Bring a blanket (no chairs allowed). Parking and admission are free, and all movie-goers will receive complimentary popcorn and Coca-Cola beverages.

Provide your feedback on potential changes to the 2016 street cleaning schedule and street signage. The City is considering changes to better communicate street cleaning dates, eliminate confusion and improve operations. The survey must be completed by 5 p.m. on Fri., Aug. 21. 

Final Performance of "Janet and the Beanstalk: 3D" 8/15

On Sat., Aug. 15, at 10 a.m., Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre for Very Young Audiences will present the final performance of Janet and the Beanstalk: 3D, by Kara Roseborough, at the Evanston Ecology Center.
