As the project nears completion, I would like to thank all residents for your patience during the process. Below is an update on the project from City of Evanston Senior Project Manager of Construction and Design Dan Manis:

"The Dempster Street Water Main Replacement Project is nearing completion! Minor patching and parkway sod restoration is anticipated to be completed in the work area between Fowler and Dodge Avenues the week of July 6. In the work area between Dodge and Asbury Avenues, water main utility work is expected to be fully completed the week of July 6, with street patching and parkway sod restoration to be completed the week of July 20.

This project was part of the City’s continuous program to renovate and improve the water distribution system throughout the community. We regret any inconveniences that may have occurred during construction. Your patience and cooperation were greatly appreciated throughout this process.

Help Control the City's Rodent Population

Thank you to all residents who are working together to clean up alleys, shared spaces and properties to better control the rodent population in our community. Managing Evanston's rodent population requires a community-wide effort. Please call or text 847-448-4311 if you spot a rodent in your alley or exterior property. Other tips include:

  • Don't give them a home. Keep food and garbage in tightly sealed containers, control vegetation, and close openings in garage walls and doors.
  • Team up. Work with your neighbors to clean up your alley and shared spaces.
  • Share this information. Tell neighbors, tenants and landlords.

For more information, please click on the guide below or visit cityofevanston.org/pestcontrol.
