 The North Shore Mosquito Abatement District (NSMAD) will be conducting targeted adult mosquito control operations in portions of Evanston on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, between the hours of 8:00 PM and 2:00 AM, weather permitting. The area targeted is north of Central Street and east of Ashland Avenue.
Other targeted communities are Golf, Kenilworth, Lincolnwood, Morton Grove, Niles, Skokie, Wilmette and Winnetka.
The specific NSMAD map numbers to be treated are:
- 02-35 Evanston & Wilmette
- 03-27 Kenilworth, Wilmette & Winnetka
- 06-28 Lincolnwood & Skokie
- 07-17 Morton Grove & Skokie
- 07-29 Morton Grove, Niles & Skokie
- 08-07 Glenview & Golf
- 08-18 Morton Grove

In 2012, the City of Evanston launched an email and text notification system whereby residents can get advance notice of planned adult mosquito abatement operations. To sign up for the notification system, residents should go to cityofevanston.org/subscribe, select subscription type, enter their email or wireless number and then choose “Mosquito Abatement” under the “Special Interest” section. Alerts will be sent with the information provided to the city of Evanston by NSMAD. Typically, member communities get about 48 hours’ notice prior to spraying and operations are conducted in the late evening to early morning hours as weather permits.
