Attend the Faith Temple Church of God in Christ Children's Choir at the "Yes I Can" concert on Sat., May 23 at 5 p.m., located at 1932 Dewey Ave. The old school for the new school event will feature special presenters and a surprise guest songwriter. Learn more >>>
 Community members are invited to attend the Bethel AME Church 89th Anniversary Celebration on Sun., May 31, 3:30 p.m., at 1744 Darrow Ave., in Evanston. The theme of this year's event is "Look Where God Brought Us From" and will feature guest speaker Reverend James Bailey. This event is a part of the Evanston Own It Proclamation.

Bethany Baptist Church of Christ Offers Noon Service
 Are you retired, in between jobs, on vacation, or simply on a lunch break and need a spiritual lift? Community members are encouraged to join the Bethany Baptist Church of Christ, located at 1225 Elmwood Ave., for its mid-week Wednesday services from noon to 1 p.m. Please note: Wednesday worship services are held on every second and fourth Wednesday of the month.  On Sat., June 6, community members are invited to attend the 6th annual "Taste of Hemenway" event beginning at 5 p.m. at Hemenway United Methodist Church, 933 Chicago Ave. The event will feature music, fun and a variety of ethnic foods, including Jamaican, Belizean, Swedish, Haitian, Chinese and more. Attendees are required to make a donation of $20 for adults; $5 for children 10 years old and younger. Children age 3 and younger are free. All proceeds from the event will be used to support the mission and ministry of the church.
