Evanston Special Recreation Receives Kevin T. Kendrigan Outstanding Team Award

EVANSTON, ILLINOIS - City of Evanston Special Olympics Program Manager Leonard Woodson and the Evanston Special  Olympics Team athletes and coaches received the 11th annual Kevin T. Kendrigan Outstanding Team Award at the Special Olympics Illinois Area 18 Track Meet on April 26.

According to Special Olympics Area 18 Director Jordan Feldman, Evanston Special Recreation is an exemplary Special Olympics Agency with great athletes, wonderful coaches, and tremendous impact on the Evanston community. Participants are dedicated to improving the quality of life and promoting a successful leisure lifestyle for individuals with disabilities through advocacy and awareness.

The award is named after Kevin T. Kendrigan, a driving force in the creation and growth of Special Olympics Illinois Area 18, North Suburban Cook County. Kendrigan’s leadership and passion for Special Olympics, created a dedicated team of volunteers, coaches, sponsors and staff who make the sports competitions a reality for the athletes and families served.
