Around Town

DuPage County recently began a project in unincorporated Hinsdale, bordering Willowbrook and Burr Ridge. The area experiences localized drainage issues, so SWM’s in-house crew is creating a detention basin to alleviate those flooding issues. In addition, the basin will be planted with native plants, which have large root systems that filter pollutants from stormwater runoff to improve water quality. The basin is expected to be completed this winter with plantings installed in the spring.
