PACE program event

Cronin, Chaplin Attend Clean Energy Program

Chairman Dan Cronin joined business and community leaders for a Nov. 22 kickoff workshop to learn about the County’s commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy program, which helps make commercial properties more energy efficient. He joined Donna McCaleb, CFO of Noland Sales Industries Inc., which was the first company to utilize the PACE program, and Rick Akins, President of Bright Life Renewable Energy.

Environmental Committee Chairwoman Liz Chaplin, IECA Board Member and former state Rep. Patti Bellock, and SCARCE’s Kay McKeen (pictured) joined those at the Nov. 22 kickoff and workshop. Additional information can be found at www.iecaPACE.org.


Epilepsy Month Awareness Proclamation

County Board Celebrates National Epilepsy Awareness Month

Chairman Dan Cronin and County Board members Pete DiCianni and Mary FitzGerald Ozog presented a proclamation recognizing November as National Epilepsy Awareness Month to Mike Axelrod, a Board member from the Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy, an organization that advocates for research and treatment for this disorder, which impacts 65 million people worldwide.

County Resource Site Gets Update
DuPage County has updated its DuPage CRIS portal! CRIS is a website that provides more than 1,000 resources that can assist residents in need. The site is now more user-friendly and easier to navigate. Check out the updated site!



Noonan Participates in Census Committee Meeting

Noonan Census Committee meeting

County Board member Sean Noonan attended the Sept. 17 Complete Count Committee meeting, where the group received input on outreach efforts and ways to promote the U.S. Census. Vietnam Veteran Celebration

Chaplin Honors Vietnam Veterans

County Board member Liz Chaplin joined U.S. Rep. Sean Casten in honoring Vietnam veterans at the Vietnam War 50th Commemoration Ceremony at the Wheaton VFW.


County Board Approves FY2020 Budget

On Nov. 26, the DuPage County Board approved its Fiscal Year 2020 budget with a balanced, $476.2 million spending plan.

The budget provides funding to replace the County’s 40-year-old property tax administration system, increase the Sheriff’s patrol capacity and replace 16 patrol vehicles. The FY2020 Budget also provides $1 million in grant-funded local social services to DuPage’s neediest residents through the Human Services Grant Fund. The Heroin Opioid Prevention and Education (HOPE) Taskforce receives $100,000 to continue the countywide fight against heroin and opioid addiction. The budget also includes an increased allocation for the DuPage County Clerk’s Election Division to conduct the 2020 primary and Presidential elections.

DuPage County Seeking Input on ADA Plan

DuPage County will begin holding public meetings for input on the County’s Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan for pedestrian access on County roadways.

The DuPage Division of Transportation (DuDOT) is circulating a draft version of the plan for public comment and will accept public comment through Jan. 21, 2020. The first public meeting to discuss the ADA Plan will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Dec. 17 at the Addison Village Hall, 1 Friendship Plaza, Addison.
Residents will be able to talk with staff about the proposed plan and provide feedback.

Environmental Committee Chairwoman Liz Chaplin and County Board member Julie Renehan joined SCARCE and Westmont officials to present an Earth Flag to the village of Westmont on Sept. 26.
