FY2018 County Budget Approved with No Property
Tax Increase
The DuPage County Board approved the Fiscal Year 2018 budget without increasing the County portion of the property tax levy for the 10th consecutive year. The County balanced its budget despite a $3.5 million cut in revenue from the state. Click here to view the full budget.

Chairman Dan Cronin delivered opening remarks at the third annual Transform Illinois conference in Oak Brook. The conference focused on government reform efforts in Illinois and presented its annual Transformer Awards to legislators, municipalities and residents who prioritize and promote shared services, local government collaboration and consolidation, including Lt. Commission Honored by Lt. Gov. Sanguinetti
County Board Chairman Dan Cronin, Transportation Committee Chairman Don Puchalski, DOT crews and the County's Ethics Commission received recognition from Lt. Gov. Evelyn Sanguinetti for exemplary intergovernmental cooperation for the County's reforms of the Ethics Ordinance and joint-purchasing contract for road salt. The stories were featured in the Lieutenant Governor’s Journal of Local Government Shared Services Best Practices.
County Board member Tim Elliott hosted a panel discussion on emerging technologies to develop innovative transportation systems at the DuPage County John Noel Public Transit Conference, which explores trends and issues impacting public transportation.
The U.S. Green Building Council awarded the Jeanine Nicarico Children's Advocacy and Neutral Exchange Center with LEED Gold certification. Environmental Committee Chairwoman Amy Grant and Public Works Committee Chairman Jim Healy joined Chairman Dan Cronin and staff during the presentation of this award.
Judicial and Public Safety Committee Chairman Grant Eckhoff welcomed state and federal officials taking part in a regional communications exercise hosted by DuPage County’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
Chairman Dan Cronin and other local officials cut the ribbon on the new Illinois Tollway Route 390. The 2.5-mile road runs from Lake Street in Hanover Park to Route 83 in Bensenville. The Route 390 project marked an important step toward achieving western access to O’Hare Airport.
