Guidance for Reporting Dyed Diesel Fuel Use for Agricultural On‑Road Operations During the Relief Period

Effective October 6–December 31, 2026

In response to the ongoing diesel fuel crisis, Illinois has authorized temporary penalty relief for the on‑road use of dyed diesel fuel for farming and agricultural purposes.

The Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR) has issued the following bulletins to provide reporting guidance for International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) Licensees and Motor Fuel Distributors.
