Reminder: Monday, October 16, 2023, is the last day to file your 2022 Illinois individual income tax return

The state of Illinois grants an automatic six-month extension to file your Illinois individual income tax return (Form IL-1040) from the original due date of April 18, 2023.

For calendar year filers, the extended due date is Monday, October 16, 2023.

Note: If you receive a federal extension of more than six months, you are automatically allowed that extension for Illinois.
