2023 Illinois Tax Filing Season is Open!
Taxpayers encouraged to use improved, free tax-filing system
The Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR) is now accepting 2022 state individual income tax returns. Electronically filed, error-free returns should receive a direct deposit refund in approximately four weeks. The 2023 tax filing deadline is Tuesday, April 18, 2023.
