MyTax Illinois’s logon process now requires two-step verification to access your account. With MyTax Illinois two-step verification, you will be asked to provide a security code to verify your identity each time you log in.
You can receive the security code in one of two ways. First, you may use an authentication app, such as Google Authenticator, to receive your security code. Or, you may request to receive the security code by email. Once you have made your selection and followed the instructions for your chosen method, you will be asked to enter the security code.
If you choose to receive your security code by email and do not see it in your inbox, please check your spam or junk email folder. If, for some reason, you did not receive the security code, you can click the link to have the security code resent.
If you will be using the same device to regularly access your MyTax Illinois account, you can select the “Trust this device” box after you have entered your security code the next time you log in. This will allow you to access your MyTax Illinois account from your chosen device without a security code.
