Lee Street to Close August 17 to August 27, 2026
for Railroad Crossing Work
Union Pacific will replace the railroad tracks and nearby pavement at the Lee Street (U.S. 14/45) crossing in downtown Des Plaines.
To complete the work, Lee Street will be closed between Ellinwood Street and Miner Street from 9 a.m. Monday, August 17, through 5 p.m. Thursday, August 27.
A posted detour will direct motorists to Oakton Street, Des Plaines River Road and Miner Street (U.S. 14).
Drivers should allow extra travel time, follow all detour signs, obey posted speed limits and watch for workers and equipment in the area.
