HOWARD AVENUE AT DOUGLAS AVENUE CLOSURE
JULY 29 THROUGH JULY 31, 2026
The intersection of Howard Avenue and Douglas Avenue will be closed to through traffic for various utility upgrades. This closure will be in effect starting July 29 at 7am through July 31 at 5pm. All work is weather dependent and unknown utility conflicts may cause delays.
A posted detour will direct traffic to utilize Touhy Avenue or Oakton Street.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through the area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to detour signs in the work zones, obey posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
