City Council Meeting Preview – July 20, 2026
Hello everyone,
I hope you’re all doing well and enjoying the week. As we head into Monday’s City Council meeting on July 20 here in Des Plaines, I wanted to reach out and give you a quick, friendly preview of what’s coming up. These meetings are one of the ways we stay connected, informed, and involved in shaping our community, and I’m grateful to have you along for the journey. RESOLUTION R-167-26: Adopting the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program Year 2026 (PY2026) Annual Action Plan
RESOLUTION R-168-26: Awarding the Bid for the Core and Shell Restaurant Package Project to Paul Borg Construction Company in the Amount of $10,970,565. Funded by 2026 and 2027 Facilities Replacement Fund. (678 Lee Street building the new Dime restaurant)

Food Truck Round Up 7/21
The second Food Truck Round Up event of 2026 will be at Metropolitan Square in downtown Des Plaines (corner of Metropolitan Way & Market Street). Everyone in the community is invited to attend! Play yard games, grab a bite to eat from one of the food trucks, and listen to live music by 28 Days Duo beginning at 5:30 p.m. Limited picnic table seating is available, and attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs.
