 Message from Mayor Goczkowski
On Wednesday morning, we came together as a community to honor Patriot Day—a day of reflection marking the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001. This day is a powerful reminder of the courage, strength, and unity that define our nation.
In partnership with our Police and Fire Departments, we paid tribute to the brave individuals who responded heroically to the attacks, as well as those whose lives were deeply impacted by the events of 9/11. We took time to reflect on the enduring spirit of resilience and compassion that emerged from the tragedy, and we reaffirmed our shared commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and unified Des Plaines.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to our first responders, city officials, and every community member who participated in this important commemoration. Together, we ensure that the legacy of unity continues to guide and inspire us all.
As always, feel free to contact me directly at agoczkowski@desplainesil.gov or 847-391-5301. Please share this E-News with your family, friends and neighbors and encourage them to subscribe.
