8th Ward Meeting
Friendship Park Conservatory

Our next 8th Ward meeting will be at the Friendship Park Conservatory on Tuesday Aug. 6 at 7pm.
Our guest speaker will be Director of Administration for the Mount Prospect Park District, George Giese.
Mr. Giese will discuss current events at the Park District including the recent decision by the Mount Prospect Park District Board to place a referendum for a funding proposal on the November 2024 ballot.
The funding proposal will address some of the District's highest-priority park and recreation facility needs. The proposal is focused on replacing Lions Recreation Center and Big Surf Pool—two aging facilities that have infrastructure that has reached the end of its useful life—as well as addressing improvements at Lions Memorial Park and RecPlex.
After our speaker, I'll have time to answer questions.
Mark your calendar for the remaining Food Truck Round Up events. Aug. 20 will be at Library Plaza and Sep. 17 will be in our neighborhood at Friendship Park.
