Wolf Road Resurfacing Begins July 24
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that a resurfacing of Wolf Road, from north of Touhy Avenue (Illinois 72) to Golf Road (Illinois 58), in Des Plaines, will require daytime intermittent lane closures, beginning, weather permitting, Wednesday, July 24.
The $3.4 million project, which consists of resurfacing the 2.6-mile stretch of Wolf Road and constructing new ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps, is anticipated to be completed in summer 2025. Access to residences and businesses within the work zone will be maintained throughout construction.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
July is National Grilling Month

Keep your grill and trays clean and free of grease or fat buildup.

Use grills in an open space, away from anything that can catch fire.

Always make sure your gas grill lid is open before lighting it.

Keep children and pets at least three feet away from the grilling area.

Never leave your grill unattended when in use.
National Night Out
Food Truck Round Up
Join the City of Des Plaines on Tuesday, Aug. 20, from 5-8 p.m., on Library Plaza for another Food Truck Round Up event. We encourage attendees to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets and enjoy the live music from Justine Ewald at 5:30 p.m. Everyone in the community is invited to attend!
Menu items include smash burgers, grilled cheese, lobster rolls, potsticker bowl, Kalua pork sliders, quesadillas, tacos, nachos, funnel cakes, ice cream, and more!
