Martam Construction has completed concrete work at the Oakwood-Walnut (Center-Cora) Alley, Des Plaines Theatre Sidewalk, Oakton-Riverview (White-Cora) Alley, Oakton-Riverview (Liden-Orchard) Alley, and the other various locations throughout the City located within Wards 1 and 2. Please allow 2-3 days for concrete to settle at the various locations. The contractor shall removal all barricades and parking restrictions once ready for use.
Following this, permeable brick pavers will begin to be placed at Oakton-Riverview (White-Cora) Alley and Oakton-Riverview (Liden-Orchard) starting Monday, June 24th. Pervious concrete will be poured next week at the Oakwood-Walnut (Center-Cora) Alley, if weather permits.
Pervious concrete removal will also begin next week Monday, June 24th at the Laurel-Graceland (Marion-Thacker) Alley. Notices to all affected residents have been delivered and can also be found attached.
Douglas Ave (from Howard Ave to dead end) will follow further layout, survey, and removals next week. All residents have been given notices for upcoming work within the area. Affected trees have been removed within the scope of work. Any affected residents that will not have access to their driveway will also be given notices ahead in advance.
Sidewalk, curb, and apron removals at the various locations within Wards 2 and 4 shall continue on next week as well.
There are many locations where the contractor will install temporary No Parking signs. These signs allow the contractor to access the replacement areas. Please be mindful of these signs and do not block the work area during the posted times. The signs will be removed as soon as the work is complete.
