 Message from Mayor Goczkowski
I am thrilled to share that Dorothy Wisniewski will be stepping into the role of City Manager starting April 1, 2024. With almost 17 years of dedicated service as Assistant City Manager/Director of Finance, Dorothy brings a wealth of experience to this important role. Under her leadership, Des Plaines has seen remarkable progress in financial management, with significant reductions in debt and a projected zero debt status by 2025.
Dorothy's appointment is a historic moment for our city, as she is the first woman to be appointed to this role. She will succeed Mike Bartholomew, who has served the City for 13 years. Dorothy's promotion underscores our commitment to diversity and fostering qualified leadership. With her extensive experience and proven track record, Des Plaines is poised for continued growth and prosperity. Congratulations, Dorothy!
