 Join us for a Community Trash Clean Up facilitated by Clean Up - Give Back on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Axehead Lake (S River Rd., south of W Touhy Ave, Cook County, IL 60018). Algonquin Middle School will host the grand return of its annual Family Astronomy Night, rain or shine, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the school, 767 E. Algonquin Road, Des Plaines.
Students, parents and the community are invited to view the night sky through telescopes, learn about Maine West’s science courses, view a presentation by a NASA Educator about the new James Webb Telescope images, engage in demonstrations with amateur astronomers, create astronomy crafts, and participate in STEM design challenges.
 The Des Plaines History Center along with the City of Des Plaines and Bike & Walk Des Plaines will host a guided historical tour of the south side of the City on bicycle on Saturday, Oct. 1 beginning at 9 a.m. Registration is required and limited to 35 participants.
