The Illinois Department of Transportation will begin road work on Northwest Highway between Nicholas Drive and Western Avenue (known as the "S Curve") on Tuesday, May 31. The road will be closed to all traffic. The project, which consists of resurfacing and drainage improvements, is anticipated to be completed at the end of October.
Access to local residences and businesses will be maintained throughout construction.
Please follow posted detours and seek alternative routes. Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Please pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.

Our Forestry Team has been hard at work over the past few weeks planting new trees around the community. Throughout the year, 300 trees will be planted to enhance our canopy and meet our goals as a certified member of "Tree City USA." If your parkway was the recipient of one of these new plantings, please help keep our community beautiful by monitoring the water bags around the new trees.
