The Des Plaines History Center along with the City of Des Plaines and Bike & Walk Des Plaines will host a guided historical tour of downtown and several neighborhoods on bicycle on Oct. 2 beginning at 9:00 a.m. Registration is required.  It's a party, and everyone's invited! Please consider joining us on Saturday, September 25 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Des Plaines Elks Lodge, 495 Lee St., for our 50th anniversary celebration. We'll take a look back at our rich history in Des Plaines and all those who played a part. We'll also hear what's going on currently in our new facility, with a glimpse into the future of our role in the community. Tickets are $50 and include a family-style meal.  Des Plaines residents and shoppers are reminded that the Annual Community Garage Sale will take place Friday, Sep. 24, Saturday, Sep. 25, Sunday, Sep. 26.
Cost to participate is FREE with registration. Register to participate here.
Residents may simply display their items neatly for sale on their front lawns or driveways on the appropriate weekend. Garage sale items may be displayed between 8:00 A.M. and sunset. All items for sale must be removed from lawns and driveways no later than 9:00 P.M. on Sunday.
