Algonquin Road Improvements Continue July 29
Westbound travel will be closed to traffic from Wolf Road to Des Plaines River Road
Des Plaines, IL – Algonquin Road Street Improvements, as part of the 2020 Capital Improvement Program, Contract A, will continue on July 29, 2021. The anticipated completion date is September 15, 2021.
WESTBOUND TRAVEL WILL BE CLOSED TO TRAFFIC from Wolf Road to Des Plaines River Road from July 29, 2021 to approximately Sept. 3, 2021.
Motorists are encouraged to follow the posted detour routes on to Oakton Street or Dempster/Thacker Streets.
The project scope includes the removal and replacement of the asphalt pavement, replacement of the sidewalk and curb ramps at each intersection to comply with current ADA standards, and the repair of deteriorated curb, sidewalk, and driveways at various locations. Pavement markings and signage will also be upgraded.
