On Monday, September 29, Cook County launched the Cook County Homeowner Relief Fund, which will assist homeowners who have experienced a significant increase in their property taxes in recent years.
This program is accepting applications through Friday, October 10, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.

Eligibility requirements include:
- A property tax bill increase of at least 50% in any of the 2021, 2022 or 2023 tax years (If you went from a zero property tax bill to a non-zero bill, you meet this requirement.)
- An income at or below 100% of the Cook County Area Median Income (AMI) for the applicant's household size
Community-based organizations are available to assist you with your application, with support available in multiple languages.
