New Limits Mean You Can Save More in 2025

The IRS announced the regular deferral limit for 2025 has increased to $23,500.  Please note, a new Age 60-63 Catch-up provision will now be available, allowing those turning age 60-63 within the calendar year to contribute up to $34,750. The contribution limit returns to the Age 50-plus catch-up deferral limit effective the calendar year you turn age 64.

The following table outlines the applicable annual limits as of January 1, 2025:

A small increase in your contribution amount could significantly affect your retirement readiness. Update your deferral amount by logging onto your account at cookcountydc.com or on My Retirement by Nationwide app.

Due to the recent contribution provision enhancements, deferred compensation payroll contributions descriptions on their payroll stubs will change. Deductions amounts will not be affected.
