Letter from the Director

A Letter from the Director of Veterans Affairs Maj. Deanna "De" Love, USA, Ret.

Greetings Cook County Veterans, Service Members and Families!

The Cook County Department of Veterans Affairs (CCVA) wishes you all a very Happy New Year! We are saddened to announce the departure of Deputy Director Major Myles Tweedy. Deputy Director Tweedy has returned to active duty service, and although we lose a team member at the County, the United States Marine Corps regains a field grade officer. Deputy Director Tweedy joined the County family in April 2023, and during his time with CCVA, he was an impactful leader that embedded himself into the military community. His departure is bittersweet. We thank him for his time and service and wish him the best on the next leg of his career.
