 Announcing a New Funding Opportunity
The Justice Advisory Council (JAC) and the Housing Authority of Cook County (HACC) announced a new reentry initiative that will provide rental assistance and services for returning residents. Under this American Rescue Plan Act funded initiative, $8 million dollars will be available for organizations to provide qualifying wraparound services to individuals returning to their communities following a period of incarceration.
The following categories of services are eligible for funding:
- Case Management Services including needs assessments, transition planning, connecting to and navigating services and support
- Legal Support including expungement, petitions and record sealing
- Housing Access Advocacy including assistance with finding housing, communicating with landlords and advocating for legal rights
- Employment Supports including job readiness training, job placement and entrepreneurship opportunities
- Healthcare Services including physical, mental and behavioral health services and substance abuse support
- Educational Supports including GED and literacy programs, certification programs and special education services
To apply for funding, organizations that offer eligible services will respond to a Request for Qualifications which will be open from February 1 - March 7, 2023. For more information, visit cookcountyil.gov/JACGrants.

The virtual information session will provide an overview of the funding opportunity, eligibility criteria, the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process, and will include an opportunity for questions.
