Did you know that Illinois is ending the use of money bond on January 1, 2023?
This historic change is part of the Illinois Pretrial Fairness Act, a law that was passed to bring about a more equitable and effective criminal justice system that prioritizes safety for individuals and communities. To learn more about the Pretrial Fairness Act and how it will strengthen communities:
Cook County Criminal Justice Stakeholders and the Safety and Justice Challenge are exploring ways to help community members learn about and resolve outstanding warrants.
To do this, they are looking for feedback from community members who have been affected by warrants. Please share this completely anonymous survey with anyone who may have experienced an outstanding warrant. Survey also available in Spanish.
The Justice Advisory Council will continue to share updates about warrants in this newsletter.
The Justice Advisory Council has completed a comprehensive application review process. Proposals selected for funding under Cook County's 2022 Gun Violence Prevention and Reduction Grant opportunity will be up for approval at the Cook County Board Meeting on July 28, 2022.
