From Kimberly L. Harris-Mooring, Chief Administrative Officer
Hello All,
I hope you are doing well. I’m sure we are all feeling “pandemic fatigue” and are ready to move forward. As we prepare for Returning to Work (RTW), I want to share some information with you. Due to operational needs and capacity limits, CCAO departments will return to the office in a phased-in manner over the next couple of months. In some cases, certain units have already started migrating back in. Your management team will discuss the details with you on scheduling. Some departments will stagger shifts, some will have hybrid (in office/remote weekly), remote, in-office and rotating schedules. This will help us to maintain social distancing and not exceed floor capacity limits.
The CCAO has been busy preparing for a safe return:
- PPE supplies are available if you need them.
- Additional acrylic shields have been added to workstations.
- Facilities continues to clean and sanitize work areas and restrooms.
- Masking will still be required and social distancing will be enforced.
- In-person meetings and trainings when necessary are allowed, however social distancing is required.
- Please see the attached General Guidelines document
There is a link in the General Guidelines if you are looking for vaccination information. The good news is that the supply of vaccines has really opened up and can be obtained by all 16 years of age or older. Please notify HR once you have received your vaccination. It is critical in order to get accurate percentages on our workforce vaccination rate.
A special thank-you to everyone who completed the Remote Work Survey. Given the fact that we were all thrown into this new way of working due to the pandemic, we wanted to hear your voice and learn about your experiences and concerns.
Here are highlights from the Remote Work Survey:
- 60% reported they worked remote 100% of the time (March 2020-January 2021), while 32% said they worked from the office periodically.
- When asked if they would prefer to work remotely post-pandemic, 69% indicated yes and 29% indicated they would like a hybrid schedule (work in office for a few days and at home for a few days).
- 53% said they do not feel safe at work as well as commuting to and from work, 25% said yes, they do feel safe and 20% were not sure.
- When asked whether they feel that the CCAO and Cook County have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure a safe workplace, 51% said yes, 35% said maybe and 13% said no.
As the City and State prepare to move into the final phase of re-opening Chicago to 100%, we will continue to monitor the situation. We will continue to ask everyone to do their part in masking up and getting vaccinated (if applicable). We cannot control public transportation but you can protect yourself by wearing a mask while in transit and using hand sanitizers frequently during your commute. Cook County has activated the Re-Entry Captains Task Force and continues to ensure the safety of all Cook County employees. More information will be shared as it becomes available.
Thank you for your continued dedication to providing service to all of our property owners.
Have a great day!
