Applications Available to Assist Homelessness Efforts

Cook County released an application to respond to the needs of organizations providing support to people experiencing homelessness in suburban Cook County. If you are a homeless services provider within suburban Cook County's Continuum of Care, please consider applying for resources to assist your efforts during the COVID-19.  Applications are due by July 14, 2020 at 5:00pm.

State of Illinois Opens Applications for Two New Programs for Small Businesses

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) is accepting applications for two programs designed to assist businesses and communities across Illinois due to the COVID-19 crisis. Learn more:

The Business Interruption Grant (BIG) Program  - The Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) is launching the first round of Business Interruption Grants (BIG) by providing $60 million to businesses experiencing losses or business interruptions: For more information and to apply, go here

Rebuild Distressed Communities is a $25 million economic recovery program to support Illinois businesses that have sustained property damage as a result of civil unrest during protest and demonstrations on or after May 25th, 2020.  For more information and to apply, go here

  • Last week, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle provided updates about the County’s 2020 Decennial Census outreach efforts and  announced the launch of the 2020 Census by the Numbers online dashboard.  Census by the Numbers provides an overview of grantee spending to provide transparency on how nearly $2 million is being invested to educate people about the Census and promote participation.
  • The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) recently released first-of-its-kind water data for northeastern Illinois. In partnership with Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant, they developed data showing past water use, forecasted demand, and water and sewer rates. Watch this video to learn five ways your community can use this data, and where you can find it.
