Dear Veterans:

As Veterans Day approaches, we thank all who served honorably in the U.S. armed services. We are grateful for your service and sacrifice to our nation on this day and every day.

New Veterans Resource Center

Opening of the new Cook County Veterans Resource Center.

It is with great pleasure, that the Cook County Department of Veterans Affairs, under the leadership of Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle announces the grand opening of the Cook County Veteran Resource Center. The Veterans Resource Center is in the County Building – 118 N. Clark St, Room 801. The Center is open Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

This Center has information regarding veteran assistance and services that are available through Cook County, federal and state agencies as well as nonprofit organizations. We encourage all veterans to visit the resource center.

DD-124 for Drivers Licenses

Effective January 1, 2020, veterans will NOT have to go to the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs to get a certified copy of their DD-214 to get the word veteran on their driver’s license; they will be able to bring a copy of their existing DD-214 directly to a Secretary of State Driver Services facility. More information will be coming out on this new change.
