In honor of Disability Pride Month, we’re proud to spotlight a local entrepreneur who’s building a more inclusive business world – one vending machine at a time.
Meet Giovanni Francese, the founder of Super G Office Coffee & Vending, whose journey from side hustle to full-time passion is redefining what accessibility and innovation look like in small business.
After years working in his family’s restaurants, Giovanni launched Super G Office Coffee & Vending – now a thriving business. From its base in Addison, his business provides office coffee services, vending machines, water chillers, micro markets, and essential supplies to clients across Illinois—including corporations, community colleges, and organizations in Aurora.
What sets the company apart? Clients get a single, reliable point of contact for a wide range of services – streamlining their operations and saving time.
Giovanni is part of a federal program called the Randolph-Sheppard Act, which creates entrepreneurial opportunities for blind individuals across the country. Illinois currently has about 60 blind entrepreneurs through this program.
Giovanni is not only growing his own business—he’s also passionate about expanding opportunities for others. He currently employs two deaf team members and regularly hires other individuals with disabilities, proudly noting:
“If I’m guilty of anything, it’s discriminating against ‘normal’ people—because I’ll always give someone with a disability a chance.”
Giovanni is especially excited about expanding business in Aurora, noting how accessible the city is for efficient operations.
Service that Stands Out
Giovanni is embracing innovation with smart vending and AI-powered coolers that allow customers to swipe, grab, and go. With sensors and cameras, these systems know what you’ve taken—and even let you put it back without charge if you change your mind. It’s part of a growing trend in self-service retail, and Super G is at the forefront.
While Giovanni can’t promise the cheapest candy bar, he can promise unmatched service:
“You’ll have the owner’s phone number. And when there’s an issue, the owner himself will make sure it’s solved.”
That personal touch, coupled with cutting-edge tech, sets Super G apart in a competitive market.
On Facing Challenges and Offering Advice
As a blind entrepreneur, Giovanni has faced unique challenges—from confronting misconceptions to navigating inaccessible technology. Still, he’s clear: drive and resilience are essential.
“If you want to be an entrepreneur, you're going to fail. Failure is part of the process. You just have to keep going.”
He also emphasizes the importance of retention—not just getting clients, but building lasting relationships through trust and quality service.
