AURORA ACHIEVES: November Athletics!

Oswego Community Unit School District 308

The Oswego High School Panthers Girls Volleyball team captured their very first Conference Championship trophy. They also secured the Regional Championship. Way to go!

In addition, Katie Malm is Oswego East High School's Student Athlete of the Week. Katie is on the swimming and diving team and was recently named Sectional Champion, competing in the State Finals this weekend.

Aurora Central Catholic High School

Waubonsee Community College

David Valknaov of Waubonsee Community College finished 9th at the 2024 NJCAA Division II National Cross-Country Meet in Virginia. His timed finish of 25:45 marked the highest ever for a Chiefs' runner, as Valkanov earned Second Team All-American Honors. Well done and congratulations!

East Aurora School District 131

East Aurora High School's Girls Varsity Cross-Country team won the Cross-Country Conference Championship earlier this month. This is their second consecutive conference title and the second in the school history! Three All-Conference finishers and one Honorable Mention racer helped lead the team. Congratulations to ALL athletes!

Batavia School District 101

Batavia High School's Girls Cross-Country team placed 5th at the State Competition. Hard work pays off!

Rosary High School

Rosary Beads win Metro Conference!

Elizabeth Nawrocki '25 set a conference record in the 200 IM and the quartet of Becky Rentz, Bella Wojtowicz, Paige Kowal, and Annabelle Nawrocki set a conference record in the 400 freestyle relay.

Illinois Math and Science Academy (IMSA)

IMSA's Girls Tennis Team won their sectional championship for the first time in school history! Srimedha Veerathu '27 took first place in singles, while Josie Kim '25 and Jiya Vyas '27 won first place in doubles.

Three IMSA athletes were named to the Little 10 All-Conference teams. Congratulations to Axel Aguilar '26 (soccer), Jeffrey Yao '25 (soccer), and Amani Harrington (volleyball) for their athletic achievements and leadership this year.

Aurora Christian Schools

Aurora Christian High School's girls volleyball team took part in the Regional Championship on October 31.

Kaneland School District 302

Kaneland High School's Class 2A Boys Cross Country Team took 5th place at the IHSA State finals. Congrats!

Aurora University

The Aurora University football program won the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference for a sixth straight season, clinching a 56-20 victory over Benedictine University. AU football finished 9-1 overall and a perfect 8-0 in the NACC.

Marmion Academy

Marmion Academy Cadet runners finished in the top 10 IHSA Class 2A State finals, taking 7th. Great job!

West Aurora School District 129

West Aurora High School freshman student, Elena Grmusa, qualified for the IHSA State Tennis Tournament, finishing 3rd in the Sectional Tournament. At State, she avenged an earlier loss in the season and finished with a 28-6 record.

Sophomore student Itzel Figueroa and junior student Nathan Gehrmann both qualified for the IHSA State Cross Country meet in Peoria, IL. Itzel ran a personal best 18:22 at the meet, while Nathan topped his personal best time with a 14:59.40.

Way to go, West Aurora!
