Happy Independence Day!

.

It is great to see so many people out and about today enjoying summer and trying take a break from our country’s current crises.  As new mask mandates and edicts are forced upon us from heavy-handed government across our country and state, I ask myself, is this the year we lose America?

I would encourage you to find a copy of our Declaration of Independence (LINK), read it and ponder why the founding fathers pledged everything to be free from tyranny.

Did they fight for our country and our independence in vain? Did they sacrifice their lives, property, and time for nothing? Will we allow our Republic, at any level, to slip backwards and sink into the very pit of tyranny that they saved us from?  Or will we choose to live as a free people, who know our rights and guard them jealously and be willing to draw common lines in the sand?

Spend your time this holiday weekend celebrating the freedoms we have left like never before! Connect with friends, neighbors, and love ones and plan for the coming days. Ask our churches to return to the Word of God, repent, turn from our wicked ways, and seek Him (Jesus).  Because salvation and reliance on almighty God will give us total freedom!
