Shingle Creek Fire – Update
June 24, 2026, 12 p.m. MT

Date of Origin: June 21, 2026
Location: Shingle Creek area, approximately 6 miles southwest of Riggins, Idaho County
Estimated Size: 614 acres
Containment: Not yet reported
Cause: Under investigation
Personnel: Six hand crews, five engines, four suppression modules, multiple Type 1 helicopters, and one LAT

Current situation:
The Shingle Creek Fire is estimated at 614 acres. Fire behavior remains moderate, and steep terrain continues to challenge firefighters. Crews are reinforcing control lines and using both ground and aerial resources to limit fire spread ahead of expected weather changes.

Northern Rockies Team 1 is in-briefing this evening and will assume command of the incident on Thursday morning.
