Funding Overview
Grant Range: $30,000 – $250,000
Eligibility: Restricted to activities on private lands (Federal lands are ineligible).
Who Can Apply: State/local agencies, 501(c)3 non-profits, Tribes, and educational institutions.
While all eligible applications are welcome, the selection committee will prioritize projects that address:
1. Post-Fire Recovery: The project incorporates active post-fire recovery efforts.
2. New Applicants: The organization is a first-time recipient that did not receive Round-1 PRRA funding.
3. Community Impact: The project directly benefits an underserved community that meets the low-income qualifications.
Eligible Project Activities

Wildfire Mitigation: Defensible space, shaded fuel breaks, fuels reduction in WUI areas, and slash removal (piling, burning, mulching).

Forest Health: Thinning, prescribed fire, and managing insect/disease infestations.

Restoration: Planting native species, seedling propagation, and strategic fire-resistant vegetation.

Maintenance & Monitoring: Ongoing fuels project upkeep and effectiveness monitoring.
